Depression, anxiety, & everything nice

We all go through period where we feel like exploding into a million different marbles, I know I do. With feeling of hopelessness, regret, and self-hatred, I didn't want to deal with life anymore. Death or self-harm never crossed my mind, but hopes of running home only to realise I am home were constantly in my head! I'll tell it to you straight. Stop caring. If it's out of your control, why bother? If you've talked to them about it before and nothing's changed, why bother? Of course it's annoying, but if you can't do anything about it then try to save yourself some peace of mind.

After some dramatic turn of events, I stopped trying to change everyone else's minds or opinions. I stopped trying to solve everyone else's problems before my own. Ever since I stopped doing all of this, I've felt so much better – so much more calmer. I know this sounds like some of that cheesy advice the school councillors tell you, but I'm dead serious. I've never felt better, at least not in a long while.

But this blog isn't a rant about all the happenings of my private life, no it's some tips. Tips that helped me overcome all my problems. The advice covered in this small article are the tips that helped me work through my feelings.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters"
- Genesis, 1.1-5

You see all those videos about God saving peoples lives? It happened to me. While not literally, I did majorly improve my life. Ever since I started going to Church and praying the rosary, I've felt infinitely better. It's easiest to turn to God at your lowest moment, but whats hard is staying with him once you've gotten through it. At times it can be effort, but in the end? It's definitely worth it.

And while you don't need to read the Bible everyday or pray before eating, it's good to make a habit or have a set time every week for going to Church or praying. I like to go to Mass every Saturday or Sunday (depending whether I have plans or not) at 17:30. I like to pray the rosary on Thursday's when I'm back from school, and read the Bible from time to time. Eventually you'll get into the habit of it and you wouldn't force yourself to do something.

Change–whether physically or mentally–can help us move forward from past mistakes, or mental states. It's why a lot of people say hair holds memories. It's because it does. Figuratively of course, one's hair can't physically hold their memories. So when moving past something, it helps to change appearances, music taste, or even changing your rooms layout! It can be like giving yourself a new, fresh start.

Me, personally, found a new music taste, started listening to calmer music, and found more hobbies. You're talking to a new boxer & baker. Not to brag, but my cheesecake is to die for (it's a box cheesecake). Call me crazy but it helps
